Preparation for Intumescent coatings in Rotherham.
Shotblast & Priming for intumescent coatings.
Called in by construction company SEP PROFESSIONAL who are working with Grupo Bimbo in the renovation of a new purchased property to manufacture food products.
Engineers required selected surrounding structural steels to be Shotblasted from previous coatings to SA2.5 standards then primed ready for Intumescent coatings.
CBS Removed the coatings and primed the newly prepared steel with a Jotun QDP system at 150 um ready for the intumescent contractors to apply the finishing coats.
We worked on night shifts due to the dust that blasting creates as there were other trades working throughout the day's inside the warehouse.
All the works were completed within our allocated schedule ready for the industrial oven fitters to start installation.
The Process.
*Use of MEWP Access.
*Shotblast the x9 steel columns to SA2.5 Standard's.
*Blow down to ensure the steels are dust and contaminant free for painting.
*Prime the steels in Jotun QDP at the specified um thickness.
*Clean up of all waste material on each night shift leaving the areas clean for the day workers.
