Restoration of The British Electric Transformer Pillar - Sheffield.
Northern Powergrid
Called in by Northern Powergrid for a project in Sheffield on a very popular heritage landmark.
This old cast pillar is Grade 2 listed and in desperate need of restoration.
We Shotblasted off the existing coatings and rust to reveal a clean surface ready for its new paint system,
As a listed project we hand applied the paint coatings to retain the brush marks as it would have been painted from new all those years ago, paying special attention to the makers tag on the front we finished in Black & Gold.
The Process.
*Secure safe working exclusion zone to work.
*Shotblast existing paint coatings to SA2.5 Standard's.
*Clean up all waste material and dispose of correctly.
*Apply 2 pack primer followed by 2 pack top coat both hand brush applied to replicate the original coatings leaving visible brush marks to stay in keeping same as when it was originally painted.
*Re paint the name tag in the original colour of black and gold.
